I have a job, it's just a college degree I lack which stops me from making the amount of money I need for cool stuff.
Update: Well I replaced the tensioner today, I started the car up and held it at 3,000rpm for 20 seconds and immediately the car quited down, so next weekend I will take off the oil pan and check for loose bolts. I was driving the car home today without the radio on(just to see if any unwanted sounds were coming up). At a red light I stopped and I immediately thought the car was off, that is how much the car quited down. And there isn't as much vibration either!

Right? Well just keep an eye out, either way, those will look tight on it though!

Yeah that is what i'm going to do. I'm going to replace the tensioner right now, If I see a severe amount of wear in the sprockets I will replace those aswell as the guides. I have grown fond of the 4 cylinder and I love how rev happy it is. One of the only 4 cylinders(along with the s14) that don't make an awful lot of dreadful noise.

Not sure if this applies to m42s, but when you do a timing chain, normally you change the timing gears too as they get eaten away. Hope it works out for ya!
Oh yeah, I'm going to end up saving up for an actual kit, not sure which one though, maybe vogtlands with kyb's or H&R sports with bilsteins. And I think you only replace the gears when they wear out, when they become sharp.
