    New project - e30 virgin! :) (m50 content)

So I traded a guy in NY my honda cb750 bobber/chopper project for a 91 318is w/ a m50b25nv motor, cupkit, and a custom exhaust; I don't care for the muffler so that will go sooner or later for something a little more subtle looking.

He said it ran good, needed some misc stuff mostly because it's been sitting for a little while. It was kinda a leap of faith since I didn't hear it run or even see updated pictures before we met up. But I picked it up last Saturday in upstate NY and brought it home.

I put a new battery in it and it did start but idled very rough and would stall if you tried to move it. I found and fixed 2 vacuum leaks today, added some fresh gas and some Lucas injector cleaner...

    And it runs!! :)

And just a quick 1st/2nd gear pull (not WOT) on a dirt road... I couldn't keep traction at all, so obviously I couldn't keep the camera straight.

My plans for it for this summer is just to get it running perfect, fix the misc problems like swapping a 3.73 for the 4.10, replace the ripped up drivers sport seat, fix up the body. Coilovers and wheels...

Then hopefully by winter I have pieced together a decent turbo setup for it! I'm not looking for anything too crazy but around 300-350whp.

Here is a picture when I picked it up in NY:
    (2yrs of dust/dirt)

And after I washed it! (only a couple small spots of rust and it needs a new front bumper)

Completely agree - it most likely won't stay white anyway, but in the slight chance it does, it will get all black/textured trim/accents.

I wouldn't call it "crazy", fast for a DD, maybe...

But when I do the turbo kit, everything else will be done to support the power.

Thanks and for sure! The bumper is next now that it's running. But I've haven't found any remotely local to me and the ones I find online are at least $300+ which means I will have to wait a couple weeks... Oh and what about the hood? There are 2 small dings in the middle, but besides that, the hood is good... (just dirty still)

Ah. It looked like it was oxidized to shit.

Ironically, my hood is really oxidized and has a few rust spots, my roof is oxidized beyond repair (paint peeling off) and my front valence is missing. :p
