So I decided that I love these little cars about a week ago... bought one for 1000 bucks and here I am. I have already started the restoring process and let me tell you its been a blast! Im sticking with the m20, I was planning on going m30 but Im taking a liking to the m20 and after seeing the power potential of the motor.. it will do just fine.

Im going to be doing the front and back plastic bumper conversions, suspension setup with Bilstein shocks and H@R springs, and turboing the m20 with future plans of building an m20 for boost. I am very excited about this car! Lets hope the girlfriend doesnt get too pissed off!

So THAT is where my damn TV tray is!

Welcome to R3V. '87 325iS is the best car to start with IMO.

Diff in good shape? M20 healthy? Got any records?

            Take lots of pics. GL.

If you're not doing plastic or euro bumpers right now with paint you should be. And if you didn't realize you wanted them, you'll now hate me for pointing it out.

Nice! Im glad I picked a good car then.

I dont know if the Diff is in good shape? Its not making any whining noises.

The motor was having an idling issue where it was idling at 1100-1200 RPM , and had really poor throttle response. I took the intake system completely apart and removed the throttle body to find that the throttle body had no gasket and looked like it was sealed with common household clear silicon!! So I have a new TB gasket on it way. I cleaned the ICV out pretty good and got a nice shot of carb cleaner to the eye. So Im hoping after replacing the TB gasket and cleaning everything I will have a smooth idle. Next will be the 02 sensor.

No records. Except for the clean title that I hold.

I have alot more pics and will be updating this thread as I go on!

LMAO!! Funny thing is.. Friday when I took this picture me and my girlfriend were wondering where the hell the other two went! Those damn things came in a set of three with the holder. I guess theres a TV tray moster or something that comes and steals them in the night. lol
