    Hi I'm new here

Hi! I'm Alex.. I'm new to r3vlimited, but i'm on the bimmerforums. I recently picked up a 1985 325e. It's my first car and it's pretty fun, great condition. It's got 68310 miles on it. and its a 5speed, which is a must for me.

Basically since i got it i've just been doing maintenance work like belts, radiator hoses, and i want to rebuild the shifter.

Upgrades that are on the car are:
    Bilstein shocks
    TMS chip
    Stainless steel exhaust

It's getting new 17" Beyern mesh wheels saturday, I'm taking the wheels on it now and planning on putting racing tires on them and using them for auto-x.

    Anyways here's the car:

Like I said, I plan on rebuilding the entire shift linkage and changing the oil in the transmission. So does anyone know of any good rebuild kits or anything like that? Also is anyone using a DSSR from UUC?

before you put the racing tires on 17" wheels - adjust your driver's side fog lights, it will affect the aerodynamics and make the car go slow, you don't want that to happen at auto-x, even though that '85 motor pulls like a euro s50b32

the 17" wheels aren't getting racing tires. i am putting new tires on the 15" weaves i have right now and using them for track and autocross. I am probably going to take off the fogs cause they don't even work. yeah the m20 is slow and sounds like a tractor. I'm probably going to put a 3.25 lsd on it. Thanks.

Lol Easy, Vlad. Give the guy a break.

You need alot more than just racing tires to do well at Auto-X. A suspension overhaul, or at least new springs/shocks is a must.

There's nothing worse than an E30 with slick wheels and a huge fender gap.

yeah i know that. for some reason i posted this twice, but in the other thread i said i'm definitely going to lower it. It has bilstein shocks on it now, i'm probably going to buy H&R's or maybe ground control springs.

H&R Race is a good spring to go with. But if you can front the money for a GC set, do that.
