Your right :) The choice wasn't easy... but in France, the gaz is really expensive (more than 6$ for a gallon, if my conversion is right). As I'm driving 30 000 miles each year, I can't afford a 325i for everyday use.

With the 318is, I found a really good compromise between fuel economy and performances.

    But for the WE, I'm planning a "335is", I bought a '85 318iA and I'm on a 635 3.5 M30 engine.

Hey, don't worry. Your english English that back and good idea on giving us the heads up, allows us to help if you get caught up. And I have known 19 year old US native citizens that have had a poorer concept of English grammar. Trust me, you're cool.

The ride looks real nice. Some people don't understand the beauty of a near stock e30 lowered and a few small touches.

Reminds me though how I want Euro Trim or need more black duct tape though. Le sidemarkers de etats-unis est tres stupide. ;)

Tu as une belle voiture. Elle regarde tres propre et tes "modifications" prochains semblent grandes.

Car really looks good. I took French in school for 6 years, but have forgotten most of it. I probably did not use all the words in the correct context.

                Bienvenue!!

Thomas, I remembered you from the thread about cruise control. You have possibly the sexiest diamond black 318is I've seen, and I've seen a lot of them.

You people are too "good" with me. I've not seen your cars exept in pictures, but mine isn't as beautifull as you think :( It will be after the paint, but for the moment... it's just nice :)

Thanks a lot for this welcome, for the Euro trim... I love too... but I have the chance too live in Europe so BMWs are all like this one (Euro headlights and Euro trim) and BMWs are cheaper.

It's funny too see how E30 fanatics, from Germany, from USA, from everywere like to tune their car with yellow french fog lights. Here, exept a few people, we don't like this and manu owners of old french born E30 with yellow lights dreams of white lights... there are, for sure, cool business to make for you :)

Stu Mc : Thx a lot :) It's too much, stop please lol :)

rwh11385 - C ///M : Thx, I've just learned Enghlish at school few years... but I love English and I don't mind browsing the huge English web (and English forums as well). Know, I'd love to speak German, there are a quantity of wonderfull websites in this language. Hey, is that true that many people hate the French people over the US (moderator, I won't lauchn a war ;o It's just for my own information).

eightyfoure : what does that mean "word", you thin exactly the same as what's quoted ?

e9nine : The weels are OEM (BMW) BBS 15" (RC1), 7x15". I use the OEM tires for front (205/55/15) and a little larger in the rear (225/50/15). I tried that just after I bought the car (remember, it was on snow tires). 225 is great, I have a good looking from the rear and an excellent road grip, but next time, I'll take back some 205s. In fact, those 7" wide wheels arn"t wide enought. It's not that beautifull from the side, tires not squared but too "rounded" (I don't know how to say, sorry). In fact, I plan to buy some 16" BBS RS1 if I have the chance to find some, maybe 8" wide, so it will be wonderfull. I'll keep the 15" BBS for winter tires or track tires :)

rwh18385 : I see that you are using a Mark D 93 ocane ship, that's exactly what I want, but for the M42. In France, Mark D is completly unknown, but as far as I've read here and on bmwe34.net, he is making a really good job, isnt'he? You also own a 4.10 LSD... my dream :) I currently have the 318is standard 4.10.

To imagine the work, here is how looked the car, when I 1st saw it, before the buy, and the early works I did with a friend. I'm not finished, but it's better today :)

                        The bad side

The ugly and dirty original interior

Some hard work during June, changing the carpet, all the interior and installing the air conditionning and heating "bloc" (?)

The same week, after hours of work, the new seats just monted (not washed)

                        Thanks a lot everyone,

                        ++

Us Americans, we don't hate the French really (besides people who may not like your politics, whatever). But mostly we just like making fun of you guys. One of my good friends in HS was from France (and has since graduating moved back to go to college there). He's been the butt of much French jokes, but all in jest. Hell, we Americans think we're better than everyone else and make fun of all peoples. Equally opportunity haters. But none is worse than our disrespect for our northern neighbors.

As far as Mark D, he's been great to do business with and a knowledge and helpful guy.

Unfortunately, a majority of Americans are uneducated which inevitably leads to "blind ignorance." The political leadership between France and the U.S. is very different and people that don't know any better simply do not like anything that is different from their own school of thought.

I personally was under the impression that many of the French (along with the rest of the world) dislike Americans, as our image abroad is very poor. I don't mean anything against Republicans, but what can you expect from having George Bush and his administration's policies as our represented figurehead for the rest of the world. If I didn't live in the States, I'd think we were all a bunch of redneck, ignorant hicks that don't know anything other than how to impose our will over other sovereign nations while killing a bunch of innocent people.

I was in Spain this past summer and people there really didn't like Americans. It was extremely different when I was in Paris in the late 90's. Everyone was very friendly and excited to meet Americans.

Yes, you are correct. I agree completely what he said. I wish my car had 15in weaves, by far they are some of the best OEM wheels in my book. :D

Your new sport seats are VERY sexy. People here would kill for those. :P

Good to see another member across the pond.
