I've never seen an E30 with what appears to be a vinyl top. :? Now I am sad. I take it that car is some kind of rarity, which is cool but my goodness its hideous. :)
ABE
It's a converted cabrio top off of a normal sedan body, it's a Baur car, done before the OEM convertibles.
Your car needs a date with a package of dental floss. Ditch the m badge, ditch the kamei stuff/logo, and ditch the "bavaria" rear thing, that will be a start to clean that car up.
I don't want to lose it because thats how it came from the factory and I'd liek to keep that stuff on there.....I'f I lost anything I think I might replace the bavaria with a plate filler.

Who cares how it came from the factory, it still is ugly. Take it off and throw it all in a box incase you ever want to take it back to factory. Its not like a really demanding car that you will be able to get billions of dollars out of in 5-10 years. Is that why the bottle caps are still on there? Besides its a gold car.
What I have lined up for it next is a new front Kamei spoiler since the PO demolished it, then this summer It is getting a full respray and the sidemarkers are getting shaved off. Suspension is goign to be taken care of soon and rims will shortly follow....I think I might get a plate filler and smoked tailights but I dunno how that will go. I really want to repaint the whole car either silver or red but then I have to redo the top and that will be BIG $$$
I like the Bauers personally. A mint one went for about $7500 a while back on Ebay, and it was perfect. Couldn't believe it didn't bring more money. It had like 28K miles, and was absolutely perfect. Unfortunately most you see nowadays are in bad shape. Keep it up and enjoy it. Neat car. :D

these pics don't do the baur any justice.. its looks a hell of a lot better in person. there are some small things that need to be fixed, but overall it is and awesome car and it sounds badass.
i hate the federalized sidemarkers though.. they need to be off there ASAP
Notice now this EXACT post is on E30tech.com.....and there is NOT 1 flame or negative comment about the bavaria on there....You look here an see how many people rip his baur....just shows you the immaturity of members here. And that is why I only have a few posts here. I spend my time over there.
The baur does need a rear euro filler, removal of federalized side markers, and maybe a L/P re-location..But the owner is aware of that and doesn't need to be attacked.
The statement :
"To each thier own" sums up this thread.
If you like the car you own..who cares what others think. :!:
I just think it's dumb to rip on the guy. U know, if you don't like it keep it to yourself.
I think the car is pretty cool. And even if you don't like it, at least it's something different and not one of the clone cars on this board. How many of you have even seen one of these in person? He got a great deal on a fun car and wants to show it off, what is so wrong with that??
Robert your car is looking good too. The next auto-x is at the dog track down in your area, I better see your name on the entry list!
