    So funny story about x-country...

As many of you know I recently drove my e30 cross country from NJ to California and did it in 2.5 days driving straight, without even the slightest hiccup, problem, or twitch from the car, in fact I couldn't be happier with it!!
To see the post from NJ to CA click: HERE

But here's the kicker...I drove out to CA because I had 2 strong job offers lined up pretty solid, and that's also where my wife is born and raised and we wanted to get back out West. So as I'm driving out there and driving through the Colorado Rockies, I get a phone call about an opportunity back in PHILLY! I wouldn have turned it down flat, but problem is that the opportunity is exactly what I've been working the last 12 years of my career towards! So after much deliberation while enjoying some beautiful CA sun and surf...I got back in my little bimmer and headed back EAST!

So now I'm back in NJ, had my first meeting for the opportunity and have decided to stay...but about the trip back...

I drove back solo from CA to NJ and took my time, making the trip back in 4 solid days of about 13 hours each day in the car...and again, the car drove and rode PERFECTLY!

I put on 7300 miles on my car in 13 days with an oil change in between, and she loved it! As if I wasn't already hooked on these cars, this is the best little bimmer I've ever seen/driven/ etc. I only wish it was a VERT! I might entertain the right offer, ;)

Here's some pics of the return trip:

    California as I left it:

How was all that long distance driving? You must be patient.

Thanks guys, I guess it kinda is good to be back!

I've lived in Cali before, we lived in Camarillo when we first got married...but I love it out there! As for my patience, well not really, but I like to drive, and I love driving my e30, but for my 4th time driving cross country it wasn't terrible, but I'll be okay never doing it again...even though I know I will!

Cool. I've never driven that far before, farthest I have driven is 10 hours to Brianhead, Utah. Ive been debating whether to have my car shipped to florida, or save the couple grand and drive, and Im pretty inspired to drive knowing that you have gone xcountry 4 times.

                        and nuts.

7300 miles in 2 weeks, that is just plain insane.

Ha, thanks! Funny thing is that since I've been home, each time I get into the bimmer I still look forward to the drive ahead of me. When I bought my e30 I got rid of my 07 WRX Limited wagon in WRB that I loved and put a lot of work into, and my wife and I were worried that I wouldn't enjoy the BMW as much as the Subie, but I will say that for some strange reason I enjoy it even more!

Like I said, my one and ONLY complaint is that with summer approaching, and now that I've sold off all of my motorcycles I'm wishing it was a VERT!

Cool story. When I moved out to DC, I drove my E30 3X straight hours from Phoenix. I-40 is beautiful in places. Still...no idea how you decided to stay on the East Coast with opportunities out West. I suppose it's all preference.

only because the opportunity here back east was close to ideal for me
