    Matte Black on top!

Well, finally after a lot of thought I decided to give matte black a try!
I used 3m vinyl films.About 5Cm2 for the top of the car.(hood, roof etc).
Just some snapshots of the project...

It turned out smooth with some bubbles which were quite easy to get rid of!
I just cant wait to see how it will respond to a long very warm summer under the sun here in Athens,GR. :D

Well thats one way of dealing with faded clearcoat. Looks good though, was it difficult to lay down around the window seals?

Calling my crearcoat faded is an understatement at best!!!

It was not too easy, but not too hard in general. ;)
The key was to clean the car really good with soap, then even alcohol around the edges and the back of the boot for instance where the film will have to roll and stick really well...
You need to wet serfaces with soapy water before applying the film and then be really patient and gentle removing trapped air because
bubbles is something we couldnt avoid, especially when we watered the soap excessively before doing the roof area.
      It was nice overall.
Good times with friends and E30s all around! 8)

Can you post a close picture of your roof? I'm curious where your line is. Did you cover just the roof, or bring it down to a body line, covering the pillars? I've been looking to do this to my oxidized car, but I didn't know what to do about the roof line.

                Maybe sometime in August.
I just need to leave it under the sun for a month or two.
See how it turns out and correct the mistakes we ve done!

Well,I ll post close ups photos as soon as I can!
I did the pillars too.Different films and no problem in the joints.
The 3M film is think and the colour helps in that matter.
Dont worry about joints, just getting rid of the air bubbles!
