The masking looks real bad. I'd have gone all the way to the first lip.

It would look worse, he did it properly. If you look closely at the cast, you will see a 90deg ridge where he taped. The one youre refering to isnt, its somewhat of a rounded edge.

oddly all tabs are intact on my caps, and with a little muscle they come off by hand. I figured there was a tool but i never knew..
