how serious is the rust?

surface rust not a serious issue but needs to be addressed before it becomes one plus the heat just radiates heat like a mug, I think I failed to mention that the car is stripped on the inside just the seats

i think i saw this car in austin at a meet when it was completely bare metal. looked sick totally bare metal. i bet you could sand most of that rust off with just your hand and some sandpaper. its texas guys, this isnt a northern car with major rust issues

Haha yep thats when old boy started it. He wanted to keep it that way but it eventually rusted. I actually would like to know what he did to get the rust off.

It's not even a paint job. Not like he purposely did it. Bought as is, I think that is a great canvas with an m30 motor & drop already on it. Good luck with the rest of the car.

Yeah, paint it alpine like everyone else.

I say keep it. Rock the hell out of it and snag some nice Type A's or some such. Have fun with it. OR, paint it a classy, not so often seen color.

Seriously though, I dig it. It's a bit uneven on the patina.
