Finally out of the garage (impromptu E28 pics)

So its been since Oct. '08 since the car is ran and I've just been happy to get it running and out of the garage. Currently running Motronic 1.3 w/ an Alpina B10 chip. The wheels are staggered BBS RAs that I picked up off craigslist (have the other set that came with the car) and running 225/50/16 Yokohama A048s. The pics were quick, the interior is still filthy and apart, the exterior is dusty and ding laden, and do the car more justice than it probably deserves.

    zomg, a yellow coolant bottle!

C&C welcome. Feels great to drive it again, just need to install new UCA bushings.

Truly an eye catcher - is it a Schnitzer tuner version? Looks like a Hartge gauge pod on the dash. What do the initials stand for next to the grill badge? Must feel great to get it out !!

Yup, its designated as a "Schnitzer 535i". The gauge pod is a just an added on BavAuto one that I bought. The initials on the grill are "AHG" and I believe it is/was a dealership in Germany that originally had the car.

Also check out the driver's side fender, you should see it say "Schnitzer" and after that is an italicized "BMW".

That's why I asked - it looked like it was a reflection - great article also. Do you have any idea how many were made? I'm trying to slot it in rarity with other tuner cars like the Hartge, Alpina, Hardy & Beck etc.

                            Thanks for the comments guys!

Yes the car has been federalized in NYC and is slightly hacked, but not as bad as other grey-market cars I've seen. There are dooor bars welded into the front doors. Someone sawzaled the sides of the front trim and euro bumpers for sidemarkers, but I they aren't visable since I bought new front Trim pieces and removed the lights. Its mostly all original minus some of the interior and other subtles changes/upgrades I've made. The roof is badly sunfaded, theres some minor rust on the passenger front fender, bad rust poking through on the driver's side rear door, and bad rust on the passenger front door where the door bars were welded in. It has 72K original miles on it, and I think I have some pics of when the original owner had it for sale in 1999 on Autotrader when it only had 38K miles on it!

Someone on mye28 posted them after I bought the car, its pretty crazy someone saved them for all this time!
