150 hours, for 500 bucks youy might have gotten 10 hours of actual body work which isn't very much, that paint job will last a long time, so what if there's some orange peel, reshoot the clear and buff the hell out of it.... i painted my car in my garage granted i borrowed a body mans 1000 dollar devibliss gun with the new dupont bag inside the cup deally (virtually no overspray) i painted my car with a pint 3 good heavy coats... they're was a little orange peel around the edges and only 2 runs one at the bottom corner of each door jam, buff them out never even know. but seriously for 500 bucks i wouldn't be complaining at all. i didn't even make a booth cleaned the shop out real good wetted the floor down and a painted.

    looks damn good ryan

My next big project, painting my car. After I source the rest of my kit and other pieces of course...

What factors would have given you less orange peel? The spraygun, and what else? Still looks fanstastic.

Great job bro! I can't believe it looks as good as it does. I don't even see any orange peel, but if there is any, it can sand/buff out.

Ditto for the question above...doesn't the E28 and E30 share sunroof panels? That means the Sabb roof could work on an E30???

ryan looks good! just needs euro lights. Im talking about the large low beam small high beam.

jordans orange looks like a mean face, like the front of the e28.

I am working on the euro lights...
The E28 sunroof is 1.5" wider than an E30, so NO it will not fit, too bad though...
I got a CF sunroof comming for my M3 so that will be fun

wasn't the wet sanding done to eliminate the orange peel? how does the paint look dry? what is causing that? wet sand/polish is supposed to fix that shit right?

Wow, the 18s look really good on the e28. You should leave those on the e28 and get some different 18s for the m3. I know it's a DD, but they look better on the 5er.

P.S. So you're one of the bastards that got one of the first CF sunroofs...

                            Also, the car looks amazing.

It looked dry before the sanding, now its better but not totally. The clearcoat went on really dry, nothing I can do about it now short of respraying all the clear, which I might do in a year or 2 if it starts tok fade.

I got a CF sunroof from an S14.net member, different than Shahe's GB he had on them. I should have it installed by bimmerfest.
