Newest acquisition ($400 E34) and some changes to the E30

Picked this E34 at the beginning of August. Built date 6/95 (really late) 525i 5-speed with 245K Miles. The PO wasn't very mechanically inclined so his mechanic did all the work. Has new cats, exhaust and some front end work. There is minimal rust on the door bottoms and everything works. Only issue is it has a pen sized hole in the front of the timing chain cover by the water pump, so it weeps a little bit of coolant onto the top of the oil filter housing (where it mounts to the block). There was a stack of receipts for maintenance with it as well.

Pulled the insurance and registration off my E30 since I'm doing just DE's with it. Along with that I also stripped the interior, removed sound deadening, and finally finished installing the VSR 4pt. Rollbar. Also picked up some Recaro SPGs with VAC mounts so that will also be a nice addition. Along with that I am also building a high comp S50 with minor headwork that will hopefully replace the current M50 by the end winter in time for next years driving events. Seats aren't bolted in yet since I have to buy the harness mounting eyebolts and plates.

I love it. I never seen a rollcage in a 4 door before.

Thanks man, it's just a standard VSR 4pt. cage. Obviously the doors are smaller on the 4dr. and the b-pillar is further forward, making it sit where it does.

Oh Ben, you and your projects. Silly man. Good to see the E30 in dedicated track slut attire.

They're really not that bad so no worries. If you're going to be near Shelton (06484) then hit me up. You driving your Touring down?

Hahaha. The E34 is just a daily beater, just need some snows and an LSD and it'll be dedicated winter vehicle.

Yeah I know it was a great street car. The '89 cirrus will probably take its place with an M50 transplant. Lol the E34s make great dailys and they're super cheap nowadays. The 535i wasn't bad, but I wanted something a little newer. You going to the LRP Vintage festival?

Ha thanks dude. I have a few others along with a 1995 F250 powerstroke diesel for towing the E30.

Don't know I am in Germany now limping a beat up jet through the system and the likely hood of getting home is getting slimmer, I won't say yes quite yet but plan too with the white M.
