That's my old ride. The radiator is small because it came from the factory with no A/C. The Germans felt the small one was more than adequate. The A/C system is aftermarket. It never got hot on me last summer. I vote to name it the Silver Bullet! :)

That is called a decel valve. When bailing off the throttle from higher rpms, it holds the throttle open to lean out the emissions while slowing down. It is tough on syncros, though. You can't easily match the revs, so they get adjusted, so to speak.1988 Alpine white M3

thats one thing ive noticed... its sorta annoying but you learn, besides I dont normally mash the throttle then dump off it real hard... not exactly good driving techniques.
I already adjusted the trunk springs. For some reason they were set way high and i had about an inch gap, its gone now tho.
As for the nasty little lights on my euro bumpers, I plan on shaving those and filling them some how. havnt worked out the best way but they will be gone eventaully. Any ideas?
Thanks for all the love guys.Comment

Take the lights off, and have the holes welded over with new metal. Grind flush, and skim coat with plastic filler to smooth. Thats how the pros do it.Originally posted by MotAs for the nasty little lights on my euro bumpers, I plan on shaving those and filling them some how. havnt worked out the best way but they will be gone eventaully. I thought it was only to raise the idle speed when the car is cold. Cool to know that it also has another function.
However Mot, yours is missing a peice. it should be touching the throtle thingy (whats it called), and when the car is warm and idleing it should just barly be touching it. How does the car idle when it's cold?Comment

that piece is to raise the idle if the vaccum drops. it makes it a whole lot easier to drive a stick car if you dont know how to drive. it works completely off vacuum, so i dont know how that would have anything to do with hot and cold idle. the old 323s have a idle control valve under the throttle body for cold idle speed, and on the side of the intake there is a screw to adjust the warm idle. very easy to tune. the small radiator is in even the late model 325s it is just the euro radiator. there isnt as much city traffic over here. if that 323 is giving your 325 a run for its money, then you have some problems. there is a difference of 20 hp. i think its in the driver!!!(j/k)Comment

My 323i idles at about 2000 when warm, and drops downwards to 1000 as it gets warm.Originally posted by Motwhen i first start the car it idles at 1500... seems high to me, my old m20 used to idle at 900rpm.
Do our cars have ICV's btw? It's hard to find any reliable information about our L-jet motors
