Today was the final event for sacramento chapter solo2, and I finally made it out to test the car out in it's new configuration. It's been almost a year since I last autocrossed it, and it was with the m10, on different suspension/tires etc.
Me and my friend/co-driver worked the group 3, trying to get an idea on what time we should shoot for in my car. Believe it or not there was a F360 out on course with 3 drivers! That's not something you see everyday! Plenty of muscle, and some really crazy B/D Mod cars! I'll post the rest of the pictures in another thread, to show some other cars :)
After a full season, we set out goal to get somewhere in the 65-60 second window. Well, our first runs were in the 65 second window and we both finished the with 61 second runs, the co-driver beat me in my own car by 0.5 seconds! :o
Car felt really good, no understeer, rotates easy, lots of grip that we just kept discovering through the day. Enough torque to still spin the tires out of the corners. Ended the day running 28psi on the v710s by looking the contact patch wear. The course had only one slalom section after the entrance, but plenty of 90 degree and even 270/360 turns! Was deff. one of the more technical layouts...
All in all very happy with the results. Next week is enduro, meaning 3 2lap practice runs on saturday and 1 5lap run on sunday. I will need to bleed the brakes for that even for sure, and possibly throw some better pads. Currently that's the weakest link on the car, other than me/co-driver getting the full potential out of the car.
