    Cirrus Blue Project

Here are some shots of my new project car:
    1990 325i
Originally automatic, converted to 5 spd:

Full E30 M3 suspension (all new BMW parts) with Bilstein B12 kit
Pretty much everything below the body is brand new, welded on the sway bar reinforcements, still need to put on the aftermarket sway bars and strut braces:

Started on the interior as well:

Some engine jewelry for now, until the stroker build comes (2.7 diesel crank):

    Summer wheels:

Lots of work left to do:
euro elipsoids, euro bumper trim, euro rear plate filler, E30 M3 Evo hood seals...

    My Previous E30:
Alpina front spoiler, alpina badges, alpina dead pedal, alpina floor mats; shrick 284 cam, ported head, supersprint ss header and resonator, remus back box, 3.91:1 lsd, Bilstein sport/H&R race, ST sway bars, BK 171 17" wheels, turner chip....dyno'd 175hp at the wheels

    hold up a sec,
What year was you previous e30? I'm diggin that Alpina front end, and 175hp at the wheels is pretty impressive too!

Looks great man, very clean. What percentage tint is that? Post some pics of the gold wheels mounted.

The red Alpina clone was also a 1990, but it was a 325iS
It had 325000km on it when I sold it, started to experience a bit of tin worm infestation in the usual spots - arches, sills.

I thought I needed a 4 door so I went for the M5 - it's a 1989 Euro (not Japanese!) and has H&R/Bilstein suspension, SLS removed, a cat free stock BMW exhaust, Turner chip, Xenons, and pretty much completey mechanically overhauled - new engine!

I have been missing the light weight E30 since I got rid of it so I got this one and have been slowly building it up. They respond so well to "tuning", especially suspension and exhaust. Future plans are to upgrade to an E30 M3.

The cirrus is a rust free, original paint, BC coast car. It has 260000km on it. It has usual wear for it's age - chips, scuffs, etc.. but at least it's not hiding anything. I might eventually repaint it, but for now the priority is suspension and over the winter it will be the stroker build - a la Alpina 2.7 (or South African 325 is Evo) using my 2.7 td crank and some custom pistons, want to try a 288 cam this time and a stand alone or MAF system instead of the air flapper.

The BBS wheels won't get mounted till spring.
It's almost snow time here in Calgary
