    And so it begins...

My last two cars were mid-90's Volkswagens and I was ready for something better...

Last night I bought this beautiful Alpine White 1988 BMW 325i and my first impressions are:

I love it! It is my first proper car. It has a proper engine, it's properly rear wheel drive (I will never own a front WD car ever again, unless it's diesel and gets 55MPG), it's got proper headlights, the hood opens the proper way...

That's more than can be said about my Jetta or Passat.

I got a nice long to do list for it. First thing is CV joints need to be replaced and I need new tires. Later I'll get a white plastic bumper for the front and possibly some new rims to show off the red powder coated brake calipers. Then I'll lower it, stiffen up the suspension a little... After that I'll perform an S52 swap and supercharge it. Maybe get sport seats and fog lights (maybe?)

OK maybe just a little wishful thinking...

I have a feeling that it isn't gonna be just 'wishfull thinking'. Once the bug gets under your skin you will find all those mods in the car and none of your monies in your wallet...

Looks like a great start! It doesn't even need to be cleaned up to look good. Can't wait to see were this goes, and welcome.

Thats correct. It is an i, not an is... But it does have an is spoiler... I've seen the car in person and it is probably one of the cleanest ones around here (except for mine, naturally... ;)).

Post up some more pictures of the engine bay/interior!!!

Yeah sorry, I was confused- the trunk lid that's on it doesn't have a badge. It's an I not an IS. I edited my OP to reflect that. I'll post some more pics shortly.
