My new E30 Cabrio, take a look

Hey guys. I just drove 1400 miles round trip to pick this baby up. I know, it's a rough at the edges. and the interrior is 98% scrapped, but it was inexpensive. It was listed for $1950, I got it for $1550. The car is straight, only one dent, poorly done recent paint job, stong mechically, weak electrically. Was it a good deal or no?

    1987 325IC
    cloth interrior (not really)
    power windows/locks (standard I think)
    manual top
    ABS (standard I think)
"I" engine (was in all verts)
    manual tranny
    213,000 miles (not first engine)
slight surface rust on trunk, rust under battery
    mag wheels (ha! yeah, right)

Not TOO bad of a price for what you got, I would have tried to pay less, but that's me. Aside from that...

Get yourself and that car to me soon.

    We have work to do.

I sure do like it. These pics are how it was when I picked it up. Filthy. Also, I have only seen a few on the wast coast this month, and many of them were 2-4 times as much as this car.

Some other info. I don't much care about milage because it is going to get 5 lug hubs, different brakes, new wheels/tires, and different engine/tranny/differential. The only work that really NEEDS to be done is the interrior. And that stuff is pretty easy. Mainly I was looking for a straight rust free chassis. (low rust is good too).

P.S. This car rides and handles better than my nissan did stock/modified!

I wouldn't consider it a great deal. Not a bad one though either.
Cabrios aren't cheap. Even ones that need work.

Take care of that under-battery rust ASAP. Unless you want the metal to rot straight through.

Thats good advise. car cancer is serious.

Today I removed the rear driver's side window. I diagnosed the motor as bad, and took it apart. After sanding the brushes amd contacts, it ran great forward, but not at all in reverse. Anyone know why? maybe I should make a thread in the tech area.
