    My First Eta

Hey guys I got a couple weeks ago my first 84 325e.
When I got her it was obvious i had to do a lot of work. Such as a general maintenance, then i had to do the timing belt. When i did that it was clearly to see that this car never seen a new belt nor spark plugs or any kind of oil.
Once I did all of those things I got to figure out why my wiper motor wasn't working. Turned out that that car used to have mice. After cleaning all the residue of those buggers away and then changing the motor, the wipers worked again.

Then to the interior. The interior carpet was shot. It was the most disgusting thing. Turned out that the heater core broke at one point and all of the water ran into the carpet by the drivers gas pedal. Resulting in mold and a really wierd stench. So I went on ebay and found a relatively good carpet for cheap. Got it and put it in and voila the inside already started to look nicer. Then i went to the german ebay site and found a nice mtech steering wheel for half the price then here in the U.S. Then my father came home one evening and handed me new floor mats which turned out to be nice m3 mats which i'm happy about since i don't have to buy any and of course their m3 mats. Also i removed the radio which was some shit $20 from autozone. And put a kenwood radio in their which i had from my jeep.

Their are little things that i did to the car that i didn't mention and there going to be things that i will do to the car such as removing the pin stripes and getting new rims. etc.

I'm curious what you guys think of her so far. Its work in progress. Also i've been thinking of doing little mod's to her but nothign to expensive since i'm in college and i'm broke.

That's a clean example. Those seats are very sought after so take care of them.

Lots of potential there. With just a few tastefull mods that thing could be a fun and perfectly bitchin' daily.

With a bit of ambition, time, and money, there is no reason that that car could not be absoluetly spectacular. (read: stroker)

Looks like you have a great start there. I would keep it simple and add mostly oem or at least parts from respected tuners like bbs, zender and rd.

Yea, I'm trying to keep the car basic as possible as little mods.

Today, i turned my attention to my sound system since it didnt work on my ride home.
So after taking out the radio i was in a shock, because whoever did the wiring in this car had no idea how to do any of it. The wires were taped together with regular household tape. So i reversed all of it and got all the speakers working again. Also one of the speakers was the stock speaker from the assembly line. Which of course i replaced.

thanks guys for taking a look

So i was thinking of getting a chip for my car to make it a little bit faster.
What do you guys think of those ebay chips? are they any good? and i know this topic has been beaten to death im just a little bit to lazy to go and find those threads

You should look into a Mark D chip.

Pretty clean car, looks to be very well taken care of. Compared to my car atleast.

                        Hows the rust?

A MarkD chip would do you well. While you are at ti since your eta is an '84 try and find a green-label -027 ECU (yours shoudl be a pink-label -021). It is a strait swap and will give you a little more reliabily and stability to the engine management.
Probably the single best performance mod you can make to that eta though is a different differential, a 3.25:1 or a 3.46:1 will make all the difference in the world in how that that car can use its torque.
