I cannot remember the members name either here or another forum but its a 5lug swap.
Any yes, KDWs are the best tire I have ridden. Too bad they dont make them in 15"ers anymore.
Edit: I found it.

I wanna know what size tires. It's impossible to find good size 16's wider than 225. Those KDW's look beefy and fantastic.

yup, that's mine, taken bimmerfest weekend.
haven't updated the thread here in a while... did a euro single-mass m42 flywheel and spec stage-2 clutch since then.
suspension is an e36 5-lug swap with z3 1.9 trailing arms in back, e36 non-M brakes in front. springs are H&R sport, for a z3 1.9. shocks are tokico blues, which elicited a negative response originally, but after a year and a half they're still good as far as i'm concerned. the only thing i'd do differently is look harder for 318ti trailing arms, as the outermost edge of the sidewall rubs the inside of the fender on hard bumps on the freeway. (you can see where it's shiny in the pic OP used.)
tires are 225/45-16. i think they suit the e38 weaves well, and they have shitloads of lateral grip, especially for the price i got them at, but i am planning on azenis' next, since the e36/z3 brakes with good pads (porterfield r4s) are well-capable of locking them up if i brake too enthusiastically.
also, i don't live in LA anymore... moved back to my hometown of san jose in september.past:
1989 325is (learner shitbox)
1986 325e (turbo dorito)
1991 318ic (5-lug ITB)
1985 323i baur
current:
1995 M3 (suspension, 17x9/255-40, borla)

very nice, classy vert dk. gives me much motivation for my soon to be daily driver. I recently sold our 97 740 and I always wanted to get a new set of wheels for it cause the weaves just didnt do it justice....but it was my wifes car and she didnt need anything fancy anyway. But on an E30 they look wicked, esp with 245's and that stance. Nice car man. awesome alpine.[sigpic

E38 weaves, the perfect wheel for the E30.

Side Note to DK: Owning an m42 318i and a m20 vert, I realize what an awesome combination you have there, especially with the weight-loss and performance enhancements.sigpic
