Actually, many of the people who bitch about stretch (like me) would prefer to see a properly sized tyre on a wheel that fits properly and doesn't foul the guards on the full stroke of the suspension. It'd be nice to see more cars pay attention to how they affect their roll centres, or better choice of spring/shock rate matching rather than just ride height. Hell, let's throw wheel weight and track changes in there, too.

You may well mock people for liking ridiculous and over-sized tyres, but at least those cars will stop and turn better than some stretch tyre'd, "stanced" hard-parker. If you're just interested in having "perfect" wheel fitment and being as low as possible, then bag the damn thing.

Function > form - particularly when it pertains to a car that had good handling from stock (like an E30).

If this pulls up next to me at the lights in Brisbane I might be inclined to get out of the car and give you a big High 5. Dont be afraid.

And as for knowing when you're running on meats, I used to run 215s on caps. Talk about meat. Very useful when you're playing near curbs though.

What's not to like about stretching tires and stancing a car properly? I don't tell people with meaty tires that they have balloon tires and their wheel gap is too much. I say 'hey, your meaty tires look great, I bet that rides really nice.' If it's too overly done for my tastes, I say 'hey, i would move that tire size down a profile or 2. that looks bad'

Adversely, people who like muscle car status should say 'hey, that looks insane, bet it rides fine with no issues, and you have a perfect drop. bet it gets annoying sometimes having to worry about the lips of the wheels on curbs, and the front lip on speed bumps.'

OP, more pictures please, don't care if it's not painted yet

I also noticed that the wheels are different. I never knew about such tires. When it is finished, it would be simply marvelous. So what are you waiting for? Please post some wonderful pictures of the ongoing work. We all just can’t wait to see how the work is going on.
