New here, 325is with a couple of gremlins

Picked this car up off of a classmate in my automotive tech program for 500 bucks recently and have been trying to get everything fixed to make it my DD.

The car had sit at a friend of the PO's house for the majority of the last year and has a few minor things wrong. I'll let the pictures do the talking from here on out, even though it's a little rough it was love at first sight, especially once I talked him down from 1500 to 500.

These 3 are before I did anything, exactly the way I got the car:

I was not a fan of the yellow high beams, so those had to go, also made my best attempt at straightening out the front end since it appears to have been in some sort of low speed collision. Removed the front bumper, grill, valance, plastic trim, etc. Did my best to straighten the metal underneath it all and then put it all back on. This pic is just a test fit pic, everything is not bolted on or perfectly situated, just snapped a quick pic before leaving school. Front valance is being sanded down to be repainted, had a lot of chips and gouges in it. Also tucked the diving boards.

Turned the front rotors, and am now in the middle of trying to figure out what caused all 4 headlights to blow:crazy:
Also, is the 13 button OBC supposed to stay on with the key off, and door shut?

Other problem I'm currently trying to figure out is why the driver's door lock plunger wont operate the lock but if i reach inside the door and bypass that part and just pull the direct linkage it works..

Stay tuned for what other problems I run into.

Edit: Found out it was originally bronzit and also forgot to mention it has some rust up by the sunroof, one hole on driver's side that need's to be dealt with, as well as some rust in the trunk floor. Will get more pics next week when I go back to school, seeing as right now it's my school project

Wow I like!!!! And for 500 bucks I'm sure ur gonna have a couple problems here and there but the car still looks like a great pick up. I like the tucked in db bumpers btw. Keep up the good work and welcome to R3V.

                Thanks for the welcome!

The interior is plaid, however, I don't have the rest of it yet (Passenger and rear seats). Allegedly the rear seat is also upholstered in the same fabric but the passenger never got done because the guy I got it from didn't pay off his upholstery guy or something. I'm not even sure if I'll ever see the rest of the interior, so I may be looking for one before too long..

Got the electrical issues worked out for now, car is registered and currently my DD. Might have to replace the front rotors soon, have some pretty awesome brake vibration from the front.

So far, it's cost me 500, a battery, 2 low beam headlights and 20 for 4 used tires, two of which I'm using and I have 2 for spares. Not bad I'd say

                    Will take more pics soon

Since the last photo update, I was able to get and reinstall the backseat, however it's got some serious tears in the center. Unfortunately it will be a while before I can either replace it or reupholster it. The PO told me it had been reupholstered like the driver's seat, well that wasn't true at all. It was the original tan vinyl stuff.
