I'll bet that's exactly why you did it.
I bet you were all sitting around one night, and someone goes, "Hey guys... HEY GUYS. Listen to this shit. What if, now stick with me here... what if, we put BBS stickers on these BBS-replica wheels? No seriously, I bet if we did it, people would get super-pissed off on the internet! It will be hilarious, I promise! What? Put them on because they look cool? Even though they do, that's just stupid what you said. I'm going to do it because it will piss of so many people on the internet, it will be epic. That's my ONLY reason for doing it."
If you had said that you guys put them on because they look rad, and are a very good BBS replica, and they are, I would have believed you. And all the kiddies that are crying about how mean everyone is, go put some more "I <3 Haters" stickers on your car. Volvo lips look like shit. Period. I'm really not trying to talk shit all over the car here, in fact, I was pretty straight forward and not rude about it when I said it the first time.Last edited by Jand3rson; 12-06-2010, 11:28 PM.Comment

Black brake ducts look good, I also love black side mirrors. IS skirts and front lip would pull this together.-Erik

wah wah wah
You mean it looks like shit in your opinion? I just personally don't understand how a car that looks good can go from looking good to shit because of a lip that replicates the look of the OEM piece.I'll bet that's exactly why you did it.

Luke was putting them on regardless. I said it would be funny. Don't see the big deal.

It "looks like shit" because it doesn't fit right. The OEM lips fit perfectly IMO. Flare of the Volvo lip looks really bad with the angle of the valance. It totally interrupts the lines of the body from the front view. That's why the OEM lip looks so much better. Plus you're making the purists cry...-Erik

meh
One could say that the volvo lip flaring back out instead of following the valance and continuing to go in... looks better. Valance to lip the fitment is about equal to that of the OEM piece. They both are obviously add on pieces and there is a line/gap.
Below they follow the same pattern with the 'splitters' on the outside. It works. I prefer the IS lip myself but if I had a car that was really low I would probably get the volvo lip just because it bends and flexes more and seems to take more abuse.

Internet e30 nerds are awesome. Get so worked up!
Thanks for the C&C, but here goes. Lip stays, caps stay, and everything else stays. Enjoy your car and I'll enjoy mine.

Exhaust is junk from a fabrication point of view. Also fix the front German badge. What kelvin temp are your HID's? 10k? 12k?
Wheels look great. I don't get why people have to have BBS's worth more than the rest of the car, let the elitists and vortex guys shell out for them. Volvo lip looks good. I don't understand the hate, but then again we are talking about BMW guys.
