    2000 r1

So I found this insanely nice r1 out east on LI. Guy who owned the bike was 60 years old and the original owner. He only rode it 5k miles on it over the course of 10 years since it was new. I didnt say anything to my parents i just brought it home and hoped for the best haha. To my suprise my mom ended up loving it and my dad wasn't even that mad. Im only 18 so there kinda freakd out and think im gonna kill myself but im hoping i can prove em wrong:loco: Ohh and the vert s50 swap is 95 percent done someone throwwww a driveshaft my way:nice:

Dude nice. That thing is mint. I rode an R1 for the first time a couple of months ago, gave it a squirt down my street and once it hit 170kms in second I realised..I can't have one. I will surely die.

I hear ya. I had a 2001 R1 for 2 months but i couldnt keep it under 200kmh, so it had to go cause i would have killed myself.

That is a clean bike OP, enjoy and ride safe.

My life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather i will skid in broadside, thoroughly used up,totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW..What a ride!

that bike loves having its front wheel off the ground. Is this your first bike? If so, take it easy.

It's true, you will have to be VERY careful. Liter bikes LOVE to pull up that front wheel in first, and second. Also, cold days are real tricky with the tires, even with my 750 I could spin it through first, part of second, and pull up the front wheel once it hooked up around 95ish mph. And seeing how you can afford the toys, wear a jacket. If you care about your skin, wear leather, if you don't, then textile. But make sure you have some good leather gloves and a good helmet too, because you WILL be going down sooner or later (Shoei, Arai, Upper end Sharks or Suomy)

Do it right- take an msf course, do your research and be smart. That is a ton of bike for a n00b.

Listen to this man. Make sure you spend good money on quality gear. Also an r1 is a beastly bike for a first time rider so be careful and ride within your abilities, too much bike with too little experience is a recipe for death if you do not control yourself. Also make sure you go out there with the mindset that every car on the road does not see you that way if they really don't you won't be surprised and you can make the necessary actions to avoid getting plowed.

I workdd my ass off for all this shit. Have been working fulltime and going to school at night. and recently got into etrade. I hav an e90 3 series the e30 s50 and the r1 the jeep belongs to one of my freinds. i started off working at a car repair shop when i was 15 and had various summer jobs and odd jobs. and now i work for an insurance agency doing mind numbingly boring shit.. but it pays so im not complaining. im still a little scared of the bike to be honest its so violently fast. its too icy so ive been trying not to drive it but sometimes i cant help it and have to take it around the block haha.

i grew up racing motocross ive had 6 bikes since i was 8 years old. ive ridden my friends bikes an 09 r6 and a 95 zx11 and ive ridden my moms bike she has a 750. this is the first street bike that belongs to me though. and i def dont have a ton of road experience so im not gonna b that asshole weaving through traffic if i can control myself. im asking for leather for christmas:) planning on not going down tho.. ive had 3 surgerys on my right shoulder the past 2 years and im still kinda stiff lol.
