Only thing the same about motocross and street is the layout of the bike (i.e. levers and throttle). I have ridden street for a few years, and when I get on a dirtbike, it's not pretty. Nobody PLANS on going down, and that's why bad things happen because they weren't prepared. The best thing to do is to plan on going down and be glad every time you ride and don't. I wouldn't suggest riding at all if it's any bit icy out. And if your bike doesn't have frame sliders already (didn't look at the video) get them, they will save you a grip every time you lay/drop your bike. EXPECT to DROP your bike a few times at a stop/parking lot. Test fit all the leather first as all brands fit different. Alpinestars don't fit your arms if you are lanky (thin and long) so if that's the case try Dainese (that's what I ride with)

yea ive seen first hand ppl getting killed on bikes so i always keep that in the back of my mind. i signed up for a motorcycle safety course and definitely respect the power of this bike and im not gonna be doing stupid shit. every time i have gotten into a car accident it was someone elses fault ive been rear ended sitting at a red light. and t boned in my e90 by some lady in a vw who blew a red light and ontop of it she tried to run. i obv chased her down and nearly ran her off the road and got her to pull over and now shes xtra fuckd. i would have surely been dead if on a motorcycle. ppl r fuckd up rite

i just have a chip on my shoulder about young kids that come in and brag about shit their parents bought them.
i still dont see how you can afford an e90, e30, and a bike at 18.
i'v been working my ass off sins i was 18 (legal working age in cali) and i can barely afford to hold on to one car.sigpic

I bought an '06 ZX6R for a summer (earlier this year), realized I couldn't ride without being a squid and didn't want to devote the time/money to perfecting my riding technique so I sold it for profit :D
Good luck with your latest toy! And I agree, going from dirt to street is sooo different. Ended up selling both bikes lol, tough to go back and forth.
And for the record I don't give a shit who bought the bike :)
