    E46 Seats in an E30

So...last week I found a set of E46 seats for a pretty good deal. I had been wanting to swap out the Corbeaus for something more comfortable...since this is my Daily Driver. So...I jumped on them. They are powered seats out of a 2002 325i.

Well...after the snow thawed and we kicked the in-laws out...I went to work.

I measured and cut some brackets out of 1/4 inch steel....bolted them down to the floor and wired up the motors. I was even smart enough to wire in some quick connect plugs to make installing and uninstalling easier.

Both seats are now in and working. They are soooo comfortable. I am happy.

Pic and video from my phone.

And incredibly bland, they look like they could have come from anything.

It honestly doesn't look as bad as I expected. They are a little bit to big and period incorrect looking to me. I'm sure they are much nicer and more comfortable than the original seat you pulled out tho. Kudos for your work! Especially if you wired them for power also.

while they do look bland and I am still new here I think the devotion and completion should have been noted as admirable for a nice project don't you think?

I am fine with bland seats. This is my Daily Driver. I gave up my E39 to drive this. So...comfort is key. When I want more sporty...I'll simply leave this car at home and go drive the other E30, with a more aggressive approach to seating.

For what I paid for these...I am very happy. IF I come across a set of Sport Seats...it is an easy swap. And, I have already run the power connections.

I like that they look bland, because the car is anything but bland. Great install man!

I like them a lot, although not as recognizable or period correct as sport seats or some recaros, they look very comfy and practical.

major props because for a DD comfort > * and those look perfectly fine to me, seem to match the interior well.

Would a e36 seats fit in an e30 too? what other seats fit in an e30 with out any modifications? e30 stock seats suck even sportseats arent comfertable

Drove from San Luis Obispo CA to the e30 picnic in shot sports seats and didn't mind it one bit.

I admire the work, however they are certainly no better than E30 sport seats.
