Also if the car is on fire and your up against a wall you can get out of the window much quicker than say rolling down the window a crawling out or getting out the other side of the car.

Its not a wind/drag thing, most people like to just listen to the motor and stuff. On a slightly more technical note, having the glass down brings the weight distribution lower in the car, which is clearly better for handling. Some people also open their sunroof to bring weight back and more twoards the middle of the car, for the same balance reason.Originally posted by e30 dudedon't know much about autocross, we don't have them here.. but i just noticed that every car's front windows are down. is this a requirement? i think you can shave off some miliseconds with the windows up. reduces drag and all that..PNW Crew

lmao, its a minute long parking lot run in 2nd gear, not a 6 hour night enduro. who gives a fuck?Originally posted by uofom3Its not a wind/drag thing, most people like to just listen to the motor and stuff. some people take it that seriously, i'm not good enough for that to make a difference... but the people who win their classes take it to these levels. Auto-x is about balance and having the largest control over the car, it doesn't matter if it lasts 60 seconds or 60 hours. It would make less difference in a six hour enduro when you'd have the time to seperate from the field- most auto-x's are won by tenths/hundredths of seconds... every little bit helps.PNW Crew
