Hey what is your rear plate filler? I have one that looks almost identical but the PO put it on. I get asked all the time but have no answer, aside from "I think the PO said it was from a VW."

Yeay, new tires, new tie rods, new control arms, new bushings, alignment... need camber plates.... uugghh, it never ends.

Next, rear subframe bushing, adjustable camber kit, trail arm bushings, diff bushing, then finally---new brakes.

    Maplight Rear View Mirror Retrofit

    Take the Check Panel off

Take the current rear view mirror off by taking a screw driver on one side and pry it off.

Then run the wire behind the head trim panel and down the A Pillar, all the way down behind the speaker in the kick panel. Take the speakers off to access it and find the plug with the same colored wire.

NOTE: When prying off the A Pillar, make sure just pry off the top clip and then pull it upward so you don't break the bottom clip. I made it easier on me by removing the header trim panel.

NOTE: I took my header trim panel off so I can make it easier fishing the wire underneath it. It was a lot of work. If you don't know where the screws are, you could potentially ruin your headliner.

I took the sun visors off, then pulled the door weatherstrip off. Then open the sunroof and pried these off gently.

Then proceeded on taking all the screws holding the sunroof fairing.

Then take the 2 screws holding the header trim panel off.

I also took the door harness off so i could take the wire harness out from inside the speaker crevice. You can see it on my next 2 photos.

I straightened a paper clip and taped it on the wires so it won't curl up as I fish it down the A Pillar.

Here is the plug that I was referring to, plug the wire harness that you fish down and connect the two together.

    Voila! Let there be light!

    Then put everything back together.

There is an easier way to do this where you don't have to fish the line down the A Pillar. The map lights only needed 2 wires, the power and the ground so you can easily tap into another power line and ground.

I had the wire so I decided to just fish it down to make it look more stock.

    Hope this help someone else.

    Sound System Set Up

After hearing some great tunes on other rides, I got jealous and I am almost convince to bite the bullet on this.

So right now, i've retrofitted my 89 325i with premium speakers and it has an old Sony Xplod Cd/mp3 player.

Was thinking of chucking that old stereo and go with a more stock looking HU like the Nakamichi CD Player, my premium speakers and add
    Earthquake SWS-8X under the seats.

What do you guys think? Should I replace the front component speakers with Boston Acoustics S50?

Installing a Remote-Controlled Garage Opener In My E30

    I initially started with this:

But it won't work because the board is different.

Get a remote-controlled garage opener like this one and open it up

Then solder the wires on the board.

Voila! No more fumbling for the garage door remote controller.
