drink goes between your legs, as long as they put the lid on right you should be fine (i found out the hard way when they put the lid on wrong) and food rides shotgun or is eatin while driving besides frys..theyre to messy

I set whatever food I got, not usually fast food, but whatever it is in the seat. It goes no where. Then I have a cup holder that hangs from the head rest post.

no method yet except the example you posted. I'm getting allittle frustrated myself when going out to get something to-go !! Today I went to bill millers and did the passenger side seat belt thing and still spilt some soda. Im thinking one of these at least for drinks......http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-E...Q5fAccessories

food sits passenger, and for drinks, i got a four pack of cup holders with hooks on them from whale-mart for like 2 bucks and the hook is the perfect size to fit on the console and hook under the shift boot and behind the window switches on the passenger side. only really works on coupes, with only the two window switches. i assume those lucky enough to have heated seats or 4 doors may have trouble.
works great tho. doesnt look so hot but much better than having a $2.50 coffee spill on your carpet, or worse, your junk

i never drink soda so i rarely have those cups in my car, i typically have gatorade or bottled water or something.. if i am eating fast food i am probably either on a lunch break or traveling since i try to avoid it typically and if i have it in my car i just avoid driving like a jackass with it in my seat...

You can buy that exact same cup holder at wal-mart, trust me I have one. And it doesn't work that great.

I have one of those cup holders you posted above originally purchased for the e30 until I got one of these...

I am an outside sales rep so I drive about 1800 miles/week in my e30. Not being able to have my coffee or eat lunch on the fly is impossible for me. The wifey got me this for Christmas last year and it literally changed my life.

Some people complain about them rattling or hitting their elbow on it when they shift but I have had no issues at all. It slides back and forth and it's nice to have something to rest your arm on as well. Highly suggested. (pics not of my car or armrest)

                              Cup holders.....in an e30?

I prefer to hang out with all the bros and eat my food at the restaurant of choice.

Really, I either pick food up or sit my ass down at the place. No eating in the BMW.
