I don't think I've ever made any sort of formal intro, or even posted many pics of my cars on the web. Pittsburgh is getting dumped on right now, so I decided to go out and bomb around the city and see what I could see, and change that. 4" on the ground and counting as we speak, it did just as any iX owner would expect.
I felt like I pretty much owned the road, until what you see in the 3rd to last picture - I was sitting at a light on Bigelow downtown when I hear a flat-six exhaust from behind...next thing I know a jet black 997 Turbo S pulls up beside me at the light! I looked over and the guy just looked at me and smiled, and when the light turned green, he was GONE. I can't believe the way he hooked in deep-ish snow with all that power - I did notice he was running a set of 18" Carrera 4 wheels (instead of 19" turbo wheels), so I'm sure he had some sort of snow tires, annd turbos are AWD, but damn! With 500hp on tap, and oodles of torque down low from variable vane turbos it ought not hook up like that! That guy is living my future life.
For a reference/comparison point for the rest of you, I'm on stock springs, Koni yellows, and have 185/70R14 Conti Extreme Winter Contact's on iX offset wheelies (and yes those are black hubcaps). Running a 5-speed with 4.1 diffs, and its just way to much gear. I NEED a set of 3.91s, or maybe even some euro diffs if I ever get to 24v swappin'. And yes, Rudolf is his name. He's red, guides my way in bad weather, and seriously underrated by those who haven't seen what he can do...if you catch the pun. Flame away :D
Oh, and GO STEELERS!
