    My new e30

    UPDATE: Swap in Post 5

Hey guys. New to r3vlimited. Picked up my red 1988 325is about a month ago, and have been loving it! I purchased it from another member of this forum, and flew up to San Jose to pick it up.
A 6 hour drive later and i was home. Just thought i'd post some pictures and introduce myself.

    Installed 4500k HID's

        Thanks guys.

Next on the menu is a full suspension set up, and i also want to black out the chrome.

Now i understand the phenomenon that is "the addiction"

So this is my car, excuse the missing IS lip (took it off) and slightly bent valence (PO).

          Now she's powered by this

Unfortunately my m20 peaced out when the coolant return line got clogged. Fortunately i had this baby sitting in my garage. So i had this swap done almost 6 months ago at Castro's Smog and Repair in North Hollywood, and i must say that i am very pleased with his work. He was very quick with the work and Chris did an awesome job. He also gave me a smoking deal on a custom full exhaust, and the resealing of the motor.

The motor runs like a champ. No valve tick and it doesn't burn oil, and puts a huge smile on my face every time i drive it. Has a fresh clutch and lightweight flywheel, and a 2.93 LSD. Chris also reinforced the subframe for me.

I waited this long to write about it to make sure everything was running perfectly. Chris has been very helpful, and when my ICV was acting up, he drove all the way to my house to get it running again. And when there was a defective seal on the dipstick, he fixed it for me the same day.

This car pulls HARD. It also gets incredible gas mileage on my weekend drives to and from UCSB. Around 25-27 mpg. I DEFINITELY recommend Chris' shop. He has a thread on r3v and i've read nothing but good reviews, and i am a satisfied customer.

The difference between the m20 and s50 is insane. Never thought it would be such a huge difference. Next up, brakes 8-)

thanks! yeah it was pretty exciting, but 5 hours in a straight line and 1 hour through LA traffic can drive anyone insane.

Lol, gonna need those brakes I bet. If you don't mind my asking what'd the swap cost? I'm trying to get a general idea on the labor side of it.
