    Jay's Old Whitey

Hey, thought I'd finally start my own thread. I bought the car a few months ago on new years eve from a guy in SD, glad it made the drive home in one piece. So far I've only done the basic maintenance and got rid of the aftermarket cone filter with a ghetto heat shield and replaced it with the stock airbox. I also got rid of the rims and picked up some bottlecaps from a forum member here so I can start from a clean ,stock platform. Only encountered a few minor problems so far, a coolant hose leak which lead me to do "the mess under the intake", some squealing belts and a minor oil leak. Other than that the car is a blast to drive.

    Specs: 1991 318i M42 Alpine White Sedan

    Current Mods:
    - Unknown Lowering Springs (possibly Suspension Techniques, also came with the car)
    - Tokico shocks (came with the car)
    - "Mess Under the Intake"
    - US ellipsoids
    - DDM 5k HIDs
    - Euro Plate Filler
    - 16x9 ESM 008
    - Volvo lip

    Upcoming Mods:
    - IS Lip
    - Euro Trim
    - Euro Grills
    - Shadowline Trim
    - Amber Turn Signals

    Future Mods:
    - Coilovers
    - Baller rims
    - Recaro seats
    - Black interior
    - S50?
    - Turbo?
    - Body work/paint job

Working at a minimum wage job, paying for 91 gas, and school will take a while to accomplish everything, but it will all come together, slowly but surely. :D

Pics: Will get more later and eventually take some with my friends DSLR, enjoy some crappy HDR pics from an iPhone.

Looks good. Suggestion: sell too big wheels to some ricer (I'm sure they're are plenty where you're at), buy euro weaves or something that fits the car better, end up with better looking car and nicer wheels for not a lot of money.

Yea, bought some bottlecaps, and might pick up some weaves this week. Thanks for the suggestion.

                  Update: 4/4/2011

                  - Painted the i lip and air damn vent black.
                  - Took out the reflector lining in the turn signals to give it that smoked look.
                  - Euro plate filler.

Looks more cleaner in the front now.

What up Jay, thanks for the bottlecaps, making my car look better instead of having them baller rims on. haha

                              Looking good!

If you trim the beveled edge around the rear plate(1/4" all the way around) and drill two new holes lower, it will sit "in" the plate filler instead of overlapping.

Just a pet peeve of mine. Most people just leave it.
