Haha, not sure if you're joking or serious. The hubcaps were killing me.

You'll have a verrrry hard time ever finding caps for those MK1's but Borbet caps are the same diameter, FYI

I tried Borbet Type A caps, but they weren't the right size. Don't remember if they were too big or too small. I know the 16" and 17" Mk1s have a different size cap than the 18" and 19" versions.

I actually contacted Mk Motorsport about new caps and the price of the caps themselves was at least somewhat reasonable... but getting them here wasn't. Total price was like $400.

Nice pickup! Saw this on the Philadelphia Craigslist, and it indeed did have a healthy upgrade list; it seems you can do this car the justice it needs, better than I ever could, good luck!

Thanks! I should mention I bought it from Azad (KillaCams). And I believe he obtained the rolling shell from vlad and put the motor into it from a white '89 he had.

Not a big deal, but I thought I'd mention I took the pedals off and looked into them. Definitely eBay replicas. Oh well. I sanded them down, buffed them, and clearcoated them. Then buffed them again. At least they look good now.

I'm planning to get the car up today and see if I can't get the oil pan out and examine this rod knock. We'll see what I find.

Ha, no I graduated in May '09. I had my GLI out there for awhile. I still go out sometimes though for the Central Region SCCA autocrosses when they're held at the Mid-State Airport. Check it out if you haven't, best venue I've ever seen.

Yes, he mentioned he had a friend that had just totaled his e30 and wanted this one. I'm sorry to hear about the accident! I see you have a bunch of parts, if I get this thing running right, I'll probably be in touch. It needs lots of odds and ends.

Nice cars man, if you put the same amount of love in the e30 as you did in your vws this will end up a sweet ride! die the carpet, its pretty easy to die the carpet black and much cheaper then finding a used black one. the metal pan in the trunk can be removed in most e30s by kicking it hard enough haha its an option incase you get a seat with the ski pass in it, you can get a panel thats color matched to the trunk carpet that goes over the whole metal area so you cant see the hole (or the red metal) from the trunk if it bothers you too much. my 89 325i also came with black mirrors, i rattle caned them red and it looks pretty decent (better than faded greyish black)
