So after probably about 7 years of waiting and searching i finally bought my first BMW about 2 months ago. I purchased a white 87 325e from my good buddy euroshark. For the record i blame him and thank him for my addiction and introduction into the bimmer world. The car itself now has 185k on the engine and body. This poor car was cursed from the factory with an automatic. We finally relieved her of this pain with a 5 speed swap (parts courtesy of ldsbeaker, euroshark, and boybimmer).
The swap itself was done by myself and euroshark at a shop in colorado. It took us 3 days of working and cleaning to get her done but she finally has the correct transmission. After the swap was finished i drove the car 900 miles to montana and then 1600 miles back home to texas. I am proud and happy to report that there were zero breakdowns or issues with the swap itself.
The car, as with any 25 y/o car, does have its own issues.
The car has also been dubbed Project Dirty30.
