Actually, a lot of guys on R3V have (or have had these plates).
Off the top of my head: Yan, Eric, etc..
My car also was shipped over from Germany, but it was bought through the tourist/diplomat sales. It was kept in Krefeld, Germany for a year(?) i think, and got Krefeld plates. P.O kept those plates (relatives) and I got the same plate # on EU style plates. Bam

Mostly VW's and BMW's.

sorry to derail even further but just had to add Reggie is a great guy. Drove down a couple years ago and bought some parts and talked for hours.

yeah, german customs take away our real german plates and issue us these temp plates for shipping purposes. they are good for only 90 days, then you must register the car in the stateside system.
I guess it's one of those trash/treasure situationsComment
