Moved to Vegas in the end of October last year and wanted to share a pic' of how she sat for over a month while I waited for the heat to go down so I can try to figure why the engine seized. Turned to be a quick fix.

As you can see she was dirty but I painted the hood, front bumper before she went out of commission. Also painted the front trim and also dropped her all around.

    During the process.

Nice start man! If you wait a few months I would gladly paint that hood calypso for you, I will probably be in that area in April or so.

But as stated, do maintenance first, don't worry about paint for now.

    4 door= YES!!!

As for the paint. Wait on it.. do the mechanics first. A ton of CA cars have that it's called CA sun. :)

But when you do get ready to do it. Just sand it down as low as you can close to the metal. Use high grade primer even from a can (it's like $16 dollars a can for the good stuff). Then let it dry a few days as it will settle and pull in. Spray a bit of black paint over it. Wet sand with a straight block and then see how straight you got it. Fix any areas that need attention or if it's ready wipe off with lacquer thinner or even rubbing a. as you don't want any oil crap left over. Paint it and clear it. You can use cans. Honestly there has to be a local shop that can paint that for you.

We do that sort a thing for $180 bucks out of a gun in a paint booth. Im sure there is someone local to you around the same price. Good luck!

If you dont end up doing the rattle can calypso there is a chalkboard paint that might flow well. And you can have a chalkboard hood?

Wicked sick, that color is grand.

Glad you decided against flat blacking the hood, if anything on this planet is to be painted flat black, it better have a shitload of chrome and skulls on it, and still I won't like, just accept it.

Definitely get us some pictures after the hood is done up!

Honestly, before you even try getting other paint that might not (probably won't) match, try to just sand off all the clear (like 1000 or 1500 grit) and spray it with fresh clear. Maybe even like try a corner first and see how it looks. It won't hurt anything but could save you some money and it should be an almost prefect match.

Edit: The 'prefect match' is assuming the hood has never been repainted, which it might have been considering that ONLY that part is peeling really fuckin bad, and every other part of the car is fine.
