Thanks for the compliments fellows. The wheels are old weller racing steelies which seems quite popular among the Brits, much like diamond racing in the states. The headlights will get changed for some euro smileys but thats low on the priority list as of now, but it will happen. Then the exhaust will stay for now since it will be a waste of money to change it now then have to re-do it for the swap. I might re-use the muffler thats on it but ill probably go with something thats more steathly.

A little update, also updated on page 1. My car failed its yearly inspection for a few minor things.

      Headlights were to dim.
      Major exhaust leak
Windshield washer fluid didnt provide washer liquid
      City light was out.

So I was very pleased to know that it all was easy stuff to replace since it was a 25 year old car. I took the headlights out of my touring and wired them in, I dont like the tinted high beams but I needed something. I also put a new exhaust on it, its a flowmaster (I dont recall the series) that I got from a friend. I fixed the washer fluid problem and sent it back to get inspected and it passed with flying colors.

      New(er) sport steering wheel.

      Headlights

Rear View of the exhaust. I also cleaned up all the exhaust soot off the rear bottom valance.

Side view, I painted it black and welded a tip on it to make it look more appealing.

      Another View

I had no plans on taking the other exhaust off but I decided instead of fixing the exhaust leak (just a weld), that it was a good opportunity to put another exhaust on it that looks better and sounds better.

Here's a video clip of my M10 with the flowmaster. Its a little raspy on the back pressure but I still think it sounds and looks better than the previous.

I love my early 318i with M10. Was fun to wring it out and still not be going fast. Had no power but still had a kind of raw character to the car. Something went wrong with a temp sensor or MAF on that car though so it's getting an M50 Vanos as well.

I really love the euro bumps and those wheels are really neat too. You must be buying up all of Englands nice cars. My touring is a British car and it's nowhere near as clean as any of yours.

Nope, the tip would touch the lower apron and I have it rubber mounted so it has room to vibrate. Its as high as I can get it with the pipe I had.

Yea I love the M10 but a M50 is in its future.

Id like to let you know that this is currently my background,
it reminds me of my previous e30 an early model diving board bumper 325e that was going to get a euro bumper converision but i ended up selling it.
it also reminds me of this car
which is what I aspired my car to look like.

Thanks man! That E30 looks very similar, he's running the same type of wheels im looking into getting but its a little low for how I want to do this car. Kinda crazy how we used almost the exact same background. Good find!

Yea they are nice to have. I never use fog lights anyways, just more things to go wrong.

Also updated in the first post:

Little update. I bought an E34 5 series for a case of beer and drove it home. Decided Id use this engine for the swap, so now it begins. Spent this past saturday taking the engine out of the 5 series, then taking the engine out of the E30, and finished the night by dropping this one in it. Still needs to be plumbed and wired. I apologize for the crappy cell phone pictures, but it shows what it needs to :)
