        cheers for the comments guys.

as for the rally lights on the ae86 it's an irish thing. the corolla's were popular in ireland long before anywhere else in europe due to rallying. people liked them here before initial d.

well here's a little update, tried mocking up my recaro profi seat. turns out the seat is very in keeping with the car as it's dated February '92! made up a template out of cardboard, then out of ply then sat it into the car to see what it fitted like. with this set up i'll be able to use my original runners. just gonna bring the template to my local steel man to make somethin up for me. then just need to get the suspension fitted, 60/40mm springs and new inner tie rods, gonna get some 75/50 springs also cos there's a sale on at fk so they're only 60 yoyos. i need new top mounts and i'll get e92 top hats for the extra drop. anyway here's some pics:

              cardboard template:

              made it up in ply:

loosely mounted to get position right:

              with the new wheel:

              suspension:

next on the list is wheels and i'm gonna fit a x5 gear lever. shorter throw than the z3 but has a longer lever so the gear knob is closer to the steering wheel.

Ok small update, got all my suspension bit sorted now, new topmounts, e90 spring caps, inner tie rods, 60/40mm springs and new shocks. will more than likely change to 75/50mm springs in the future

now a girl i know has bought an e46 sport but the gear knob in the car was badly worn so she ordered a new one and said i could have the old one, a lovely weighted one. the leather was basically gone to shit and the badge on it was off a 6 speed so i bit my lip and pulled it apart and removed the leather and badge.

so ordered one of these on ebay to retrim the knob

from a renault megane, very easy to fit and looks quite good i think although i've taken it off now and would like an e36 m3 lip now.

Ok got a nice bit of an update, fk shocks and 75/50mm springs in, e90 drop hats, inner tie rods, m3 eccentric wishbone bushes and x5 gear lever in! put the megane splitter back on too. it's pretty low, sits nicely though, the arches are all the same gap from the tires. of course after being left up other things have gone wrong when out to drive the car today and the clutch pedal is feeling very soggy and i tried starting the car in gear with my foot on the clutch and nearly ran over my dog!! lol up to the mechanic later to check for leaks. i just thought the x5 lever was very notchy but this must be the problem. anyway a few pics!

I also have something interesting lined up for wheels...
