    Greetings from the Fatherland

Hey Guys my name is Franz and i live in the South-East region of Germany near the border to Austria. I came to your Forum here because someone in the e30-talk.de Forum postet a link to the slammed E30's thread here.

So, i have an 1988 318i with M40 engine (:puppy:). I bought it last Year so i could finish the car for my 18th Birthday wich is 18 days. The car itself is almost free from rust wich was the main reason why i bought it. The engine however was pretty bad. As in almost all m40 engines the camshaft was totally bust. I could only ref up to 3500 anymore and the power the engine brought was meager.

    Here a pic:

After i changed the Cam 2 weeks ago, the car runs now nice and smooth as it should.

    Here are four more pics:

Things ive changed since i have the car:

Suspension, Camshaft, M-Tec 2 steering wheel,M3 E46 shifting knob, Kenwood radio, some deficits in the finish have been done, new wheels mounted, new backlights and much more...

    Things i have to do:

get the finish proper, sportseats, schroth belts, sports exhaust, fit an m50 or m42 in it, get him through the TÜV.. etc.

I have much to do u see, and i think about doing a story about my car and the changes i do over the time..

So enough of me, if you want to know something feel free to ask..

    Greetings,

    Franz

Thanks for the warm welcome! :)

@ CleanazzE30z: Yes those are the 15" "Kreuzspeiche" (dont know their english name..). Pretty nice looking rims i think, but in the future (when i have money to spend on nothing else..) i probably will look for some nice 16/17 " rims. Alpinas or BBS RS for example would be very nice!

@ E30Wagen: It looks better as it is:) The paint has pretty much rock chips and also some bumps wich have to be removed. I'd best like a new finish in the same color as it is at the moment, but since a completly new paint costs about 1000-1500€ here in Germany this has to wait

@ Will: Yes it is :)

@tg318is: As an apprentice i dont have that much money to put into the car. The progress will be steady but a bit slower.
