Nice work! I've been looking at the same muffler, but don't want it to be too loud. Have any sound clips?

good job man! glad to see another M42 owner doing something with the stock motor. I love my M42 with only a couple of mods to liven it up.

You got pics of the rails/sliders mod you did to get those seats to fit?

              The seats came with adapters.

In other news, I picked up an M50TU today. Time to get her back on the road. iX booster, E34 pan, and 413 red label are on the mail already.

Tallying up a cheapish M50tu swap...

                Purchased
                $700: 80k mile M50TU w/harness, accessories, MAF, IAC, chip-less 413DME, and E36 325 driveshaft
$60: complete red label 413 DME
                $160: E34 oil pan kit
                $80: iX brake booster
                $90: Raceland shorty headers

                Priced
$66: Euro 320i shift carrier & selector rod
                $25: 735i brake MC @ pick-n-pull
                $34: 2002 remote brake-fluid reservoir setup
                $70: E21 tranny mounts
$70: gaskets (exh-mani, oil pan, etc)

With shipping and what not, I'm sitting at $1350 for a nearly complete list. Not bad, I think.

I got the iX booster and 735i master cylinder in today. You can't see it, but I also installed a new clutch master cylinder while I was down there. Thanks to the GF for snapping all my blog photos ;)

yeah, it's pretty much completely stripped and sold already. Apparently I can't put a bottom end together properly on my own... the M42 ate a bearing after only 2-300 miles. However, there was an obliterated oil pan in the middle of those miles, so maybe that had something to do with the bearing failure

Got the 13lb euro flywheel, M20 clutch/PP, and G240 put on today. Wiring harness is almost finished too. Waiting on a few key parts to button her up and drop it in ;)
