Here are some updated pictures, folks!

Wide shot of the air cleaner, it just barely fits. You can see now why the cutout on the radiator was so important.

Closeup of the air cleaner, nestled into its corner.

Front-end shot of the HydroBoost from a '97 Mustang Cobra. You can see that it goes around the shock tower brace, there.

This is where that rod follows to, along the firewall. Sorry, I don't think that I have pictures of the bits underneath the cover.

The fuel filter, surrounded by heat shielding.

All that's missing are the tips. Those are 3" outlets, the tips are 4" rolled Flowmasters.

This is the overflow from the radiator. After the shows we'll get around to putting a brace across the towers, we should be able to go around it pretty easily.

Just a shot of the front suspension, it's an H&R Touring kit, should be a solid ride on the streets and stiff enough for some track use. Brakes came in today but aren't on yet.

Can't wait for the Greenwood Car Show on sat. and the E30 picnic on Sunday!

The GoProHD comes in tomorrow, I can't wait, either! The guy who welded it all up almost made up his own headers too, the guy's work is incredible.

I can tell you that with the instructions from the LS1e30 guys and their parts kit on hand, this was still an extremely difficult (and expensive, unfortunately) project. I can't say if it'd be easier to do a BMW motor, but just be prepared to spend more than you'd like to and have it take longer as well.

If you're thinking LS1 on an early e30, their guide is spot on, but there are enough changes between theirs and a 1991 318iS, and a TON of changes between the LS1 and LS3, that it was more difficult than we had thought it'd be.

What would be better: LS swap or e39 540i motor or maybe even S62 swap?
