In conjunction with the Manila Sports Car Club and the Miata Club, the E30 325is joins Round 2 of the DTM 80s Revival Race.

This second race at Clark International Speedway, had a total of 8 cars on the grid, including two Benz 190E's - George Apacible's 2.5-16v and Mig Dizon's 2.3-16v. There was also Patrick Chan's E30 M3, and two E30 325i's piloted by Stefan Ramirez and TJ Benitez. An E30 320i driven by Peter de Guzman and an E30 318i entered by James Strachan rounded out the field. And of course, my E30 325i driven by our very own, Arc Automotive's Paolo Arespacochaga. I hung up my driving gloves for this one.

With three pro drivers on board (George, Stefan and Paolo), plus a couple of experienced club-racing veterans (TJ and Patrick), it was a very entertaining race, with three lead-changes in the first lap alone, and lots of overtaking between the top 5 cars.

The race format was patterned after the Miata Cup, with a practice heat, and qualifying race heat, and the race proper. Arespacochaga had a perfect race weekend in my E30 325is, finishing with the fastest lap for all three heats, pole position in both race heats, and the race win. George Apacible came in second, while Patrick Chan finished third.

Here are some shots of the E30 325is at the racing event.

Great job Paolo! DTM 80s Revival is here in full swing! As more cars join the grid, we're looking forward to round 3 soon! :)

This car really needs an s50 in it bad. considering all the hard work that went into it, an s50 would be a drop in the bucket and the least you could do.
          Awesome!
