Take a look at this cabby guys and give me your honest opinions... I just went down to NJ and bought this 1988 325i Cabriolet and I think it's got some good potential. It has @ 120,000 miles to the previous owner's best guess (typical odo no-go) and the seats are pretty toast, the roof doesn't leak but is veeeery worn, the front X-member is cracked and the rack is leaking (previous owner's son was 15, stole it, and ran from the cops bottoming it out HARD in the process. Hence the sale...), but it runs great and the body is BEAUTIFUL!!! I have quite a few project in store for it, including but not limited to:
1. Front and rear Plastic bumpers
2. 5-speed swap
3. replace cracked engine/suspension X-member and worn front suspension
4. Shadowline it
5. Some rear headrests would be clutch...
6. New roof
7. New custom tan leather seat covers with roundels in the upper portion
8. 17" rims
9. lower it with coilovers
10. Euro smoked ellipsoid conversion
11. Possibly either a 2.7L ETA lower with an 885 head and a Holset HX35
OR a complete engine swap with a GM L67 supercharged V-6 and a
Camaro 5 speed ( I can't find anyone out there that's done this swap
so if anyone has a link or knows a thing or three about it, HIT ME UP!
Here are some pics of her when I got her. Let me know what you think!
