    Slammin's vert....a redemption...

Got rid of the sedan, and got a 'vert.

    Still Schwarz.

Needs some work, but I'm confident I got a good platform.

It's an auto, but I'm buying another e28 535is parts car, so it's getting an M30/5sp swap next month.

Body is alright. Has rust in typical places. Hood is shot. Dented pretty bad, but the pics don't really show it.

Plan is to M30/5sp swap it, drive until November, then garage for the Winter and tear it all down to remove any rust and repair the body.

Hopefully to have it back up by Spring 2012.

In the meantime, I'm still gathering parts for the M60 swap....

Enough of that, here's a couple pics from yesterday...Donno why my friend couldn't fucking get frontal shots but whatever. Forgot the memory card in the computer, so only got 5 shots rolling.

    The best one...

So that's it. From a sedan to a 'vert in one weekend.

      Just basketweaves. Thanks!

I haven't done anything to the car yet except to swap my old weaves on it and put new windshield wipers on.

Nice car, should be sweet with M30 added. I feel bad for all you guys that have to run front plates though, Georgia FTW!

Wow nice Vert. Yes get rid of the auto. I have had mine three years 87 Vert M20 5 speed.
Runs great since I have been working one or two days at E30 Motorworks with Rob.

I hate it, but I'm willing to stick around here because we don't have emissions, and the state inspection is pretty lax. I'm working up a tow hook plate mount for the car....and yes, I know someone makes them, but I'm not paying a million bucks when I can just make my own.

Thanks for the comments guys, the pictures really, really make the car look a lot better than it is.

                      Shhhhh!

I could hear it last night in the garage after it rained, loving the humidity and H2O.

Awesome! Welcome to the club! ;)

Looks like your top is in great condition! Definitely take care of that! :D What is the rear valence? You'll be amazingly happy with the 5speed M30, I just sold my E28 with that combo. Shoulda swapped it, but being so low I need to go slow ;)

Anyways, Congrats! Can't wait to see what you do to it! :D

The top was replaced two months ago. That's pretty much what sold the car. It's not a OEM canvas top though, so IDK how long that will last.

I think it's got some aftermarked Mtech II look-a-like kit on it. It's an '89, so should have diving boards. The plastic bumper conversion also sold it, as it meant I wouldn't have to do it.

I would just swap a 5sp in and roll with the M20, but I'd rather upgrade. I've got a B34 sitting in the barn, just need a trans, clutch, and M5 flywheel to be set. I have mounts, ECU, M1.3 conversion parts, etc, so I'm gold.
