fans = the windows on the wheels are functional fans to cool the brakes as the wheels spin

This is a language of seasons. During shred season, this is how we speak.

During surf season (actually a year round season), we tend to simplify words and speak slowly, as if to recognize words that communicate exactly what we are trying to say.
