E30 M3 convertible replica - another exciting build of an awesome and fun car

good friend of mine who already had one e30 m3 vert replica decided to build another one.
We've been collecting parts (always do) so finally the time has come and the 87 US Spec convertible was found. Slapped the M3 body parts on it to see what it will look like, everything is original OEM except for the fiberglass rear quarter panels

    so the work begins

working on the doors, fixing rust, dings and filling them up M3 style

    front fenders

front and rear bumpers are fixed, lights are filled, Evo III style

    working on rear quarters

    antenna hole shaved

the car will get custom interior  Engine and wheels choice is undecided yet

    more to come ...

this was his other replica, so we are in the right direction. The new car will be white

    stay tuned !

Sweet. What do you use to bond the fiberglass to the steel fenders?

E46 arm rest looks pretty good. You would think it belonged in there is you couldn't see where its suppose to meet with the lower, center dash.

Oh my. I swear you've worked on over half of the M3 vert reps in the states.
Can't wait to see the final product.

look at the gap at the junction of the E46 console and the E30 forward console. Not a clean fit.

it needs a little bit of work but it does fit pretty good and is a great alternative to husco arm rest which is hidious
