After selling my early model and getting this beast in partial trade...... I decided to do some work on it and keep it. Heres the progress.
Heres the first thing I had to fix when I got it......

Heres some random jackass washing my windows at a gas station along the turnpike.....

cleaned up my diff and painted it...

I bought a 5 lug swap.... heres some of the front parts in my kitchen...

I love Tang.... I drink it alot....

Then.... onto some 5 lug progress. Today I modded my strut housings to accept e30 g.c. coil springs and billy sports.
step 1: Ignore this label

Step 2: Put this e36 strut in a vise and drill a hole in it.... carefull kids.... the stuff inside shoots out... those of you who have tucked your db's know exactly what I'm talking about ;)

step 3: Get yourself one of these.... but an angle grinder or cutoff wheel works too...

step 4: Cut shit up

Step 5: Grab the e30 strut housing... measure from the very bottom to the top and write down the measurement..... you want your hybrid housing to be the same lenght, unless your running short konis.... then you need to do more math.

Step 6: Cut the spring hat off

Step 7: measure what you need to cut off the e30 housing to make the e36 housing the proper lenght..... you should end up with this...

Step 8: Clean up the area around where you cut... chamfer the edges and weld it together making certain everything is square...

Step 9: Clean em up n paint em :)

Its really that simple.
I then bought my old e30 back after the kid I sold it too rolled it 7 times trying to evade the police...

Check out my new wheels :) Good eye Mike!

Heres a ninja shot I took..... thats my calypso beater there which is receiving all this love.

Were getting ready for surgery...

The front suspension out....

Front wheels on for test fit....

then on to the rear....

Then after some test driving, a little fender rolling, and a whole lot of smiles n giggles.... :)

Mike put some other valance on there hahaha....

Then we instead decided on the i lip...

and another classic mike and erics cars staring each other down pic...... ;)

This was alot of fun.... took us about 7 hours or so. Considering the few hiccups we ran into.... my lug bolts being to short, I busted a bolt off in the one knuckle, our taco bell trip in there, and an issue with a brake line..... it wasnt so bad. So once again thanks to big Mike for letting me use the lift and of course giving me a big hand with this. :) You the best homie.
and here are some pics of my whip in its current state. Progress has been slooow and I have been working on a front strut bar. I've also made some super duty rear spring seats for the ground controls. I hit a pot hole two weeks ago and bent one of the stockers.
on to the pics. I havent had time to give the e30 a good cleaning that it deserves lately...... so please do not mind the dirty floormats and the little bit of dust here n there.
My gauge cluster in all its glory. I made a set of solid bronze rings instead of aluminum..... these were the last set I made before the skunkworks was shut down at work :(

my swap still needs some tyding up... but you can see the plates for my strut bar there where they have been for a few weeks.... awaiting a bar.

my shifter I made with my lovely Matt-b shifter boot :)

Chris_..... if you see this.... I replaced the black spray painted tan carpet for a nice unpainted tan carpet..... looks much better.....

a pic I snapped in the parking lot at work the other day and sent ninja...

and heres a pic I snapped while the kids were playing at the park yesterday........ I need some fog lights....

and heres my spring seats with actual pieces of front strut tube for the adjusters to sit on...... the plates are 1/4" steel and need welded onto my trailing arms. But I shouldnt have this weak stock spring seat bending issue anymore.

I finished my front strut bar and installed a fancy sticker the lady friend made for me. I also cleaned all the coffee cups and candy wrappers out of the beckseats/floor in preparation for a much needed douching of the interior.

And this is about as far as I've gotten so far with it over the last 10 months.
