    Retired the E30

Picked up something slightly more convenient I can drive year round. It's not as cool as that other guys black E39 but it's something I can drive reliably in 2 feet of snow 6 months of the year without worrying. :)

    Edit: It's a 2000 528iA

A good 'ol E39 gets it done with comfort and style. I still keep my 540 for piling miles on to the office.

I can't fault you for liking a 540i/6, but you really got rid of the s38 car?

          Edit: ...a 528i auto?
          paint sucks

Thanks! The color really caught my eye. Don't see a lot of vermontgreen or slate interiors, especially together.

I sold that car a couple months back actually, really didn't have room for two worked E30s and the amount of money tied up in that S38 car could have bought three e39's lol. The right buyer came along with the money and I let it go. In case the OP is misleading I still have my E30, it's just a toy now instead of a daily. It's tough to build an engine when you need the car to get to work every day.

I give it 2 months before it gets an M bumper and M50 manifold :P

Nice car! I love those wheels, and that color!

                    grandpa would be proud!
looks clean, but it still isnt an e30 and an e30 can go through just as much snow

I bought my first E30 for winter duty while the Mini was in storage. I was always late, but I always showed up. Sideways. :D
Original studded tires from 1990 with the studs pulled out. Engine was a M40 316iA

My first winter car was an E30 too, an 88 325is. It did alright but was really slow to warm up (routinely hits -30C for weeks at a time here) and would get pulled around in the ruts.

                        As for this one...

                        Not happening lol.

If you find a healthy Steptronic for cheap, pick it up. It's good to have a spare. Nice E39 otherwise, love the green/slate combo.
