Where are you originally from?

I come from the N.W. suburbs of Chicago. came over here in the military, met my wife and stayed.

tomorrow if I have time I will add the pre war cars--if you ever heard a 1930s Bentley V8- you would swear its a big block chevy under the bonnet!

Awsome thread. I chose the wrong time to visit the ring, it was FIA superbike race last week when I was there. :(

Gutted I missed this event! The Berlin 2000 190E is one of my favourite race cars of all time! The yellow red swirl striped porsche belongs to a friend of mine, number 131 in the picture on the pit lane. Was it the GP curcuit or the Ring included? You loved this the VLN races are spectatular Audi R8 GT3 cars racing against E30 DTM cars and the M1 races too...250 cars on track at a time! Oh and its free to spectate! I love the Ring!!!

Did you take your E30 M3 round? When I'm next in Germany I'll let you know and I'll take you round in my BMW.

actually, the M1 really wasn't that interesting to me, in Germany, they aren't that uncommon

yep, also at Hockenheimring. Not open to the public though........

the GP circuit was used for qualifying, they then did a 3 hour race with about 200 or so cars at one time on the complete ring!
the DTM E30s only ran the GP course against 500-900 hp P-cars.

didn't take my M there, and there ring was closed for any private stuff. They had pre-war cars running the ring most of the day, as well as registered classics.
