Bonnet wont stay up - NEED HELP

    hey guys

my bonnet keeps coming crashing down when the wind blows against it, otherwise it seems to stay put fine, other than seeming a bit unstable

it only has one gas strut support on the right side

idk if it is meant to have one or two (cant see a spot for a second gas strut)
or if it just needs a new strut

    anyone know?

    :-D

They are horribly over priced at parts stores. Personally, I would go to a junk yard and find an e30 with the hood up. Obviously it works lol. I usually grab a few just because they CAN fail and because they are cheap at a just yard. I dont think I've paid over $5 for one.

^ What he said. They're really not TOO too expensive new though.

Anytime I'm ever working under the hood, I grab a socket and crank the bolt holding the hinge in the middle all the way down, so it can't close on me.

When I'm done, just loosen it back up.
